After the end of the iconoclasm and the restoration of the holy icons, with the request of the Patriarch Methodios (842 – 846 AD) to the kings Michael and Theodora, the removal of the relics of Agios Nikiphoros to the royal house was approved and he was recognized as one of the most glorious athletes of Orthodoxy.
In fact, the queen also granted a royal ship, with which Patriarch Methodios received the relic of Agios Nikiforos (which remained intact and intact for 19 years).
On the way back, a large crowd of people and officials covered the beach. The holy relic was deposited with a holy procession in the church of the Holy Apostles (March 13, 846 AD).
